Soups and Stews for Winter

Sharing is caring!

I live in Central PA where winters can get cold and windy. Ugh, I swear, the wind gets me more than the cold sometimes! But nothing warms me up more than a hot bowl of soup! I’ll share some of my favorites and some of my affiliate links to the products I use when we make soups and stews for winter!

What’s your favorite way to make soup? I pretty much stick to my slow cooker, but I think that’s only because I don’t have any quality stock pots. The stock pots I do have are pretty cheap and thin, so I have to constantly stand over them at the stove and stir otherwise the bottom gets too hot and everything burns.

But sometimes I am really in the mood for stews like my Turkey Corn Chowder that really needs to be made in a stock pot!

I was looking at these enamel-on-steel stockpots and am wondering if I should just take the plunge?? I have a Dutch oven like this already, and it is well worth the price. I use that at least once a week! Plus, I’m a sucker for anything in that gorgeous shade of blue.

But for now, I continue to use my slow cooker which has the added bonus of making the house smell great all day long! It’s my favorite way to make our favorite Parmesan Tomato Soup!
