Get on up, it’s bobsled time!
We’re getting ready for the Olympics over here which reminded me that I made an Olympics cake and never shared with you guys! Everyone pick your jaws up off the floor. I know, it’s absolutely shocking that I have a cake for this occasion too!
This was actually for a friend’s birthday who was supposed to leave for the Winter Olympics a couple days after that, but we ended up with a bad snow storm and they never made it. Me? I would still be crying 2 years later if that was me!
But he did have a cake to keep him company! And why don’t we just agree to just pay attention to the design for this cake and just ignore the corners. I know they aren’t the best but it was a last minute thing for a friend, so I let it go!
I just used a star tip to pipe my rings. Don’t forget to look at the red, white and blue border! Details, people!
To get my rings all uniform, I used the lid to a container that I gently pressed into the icing. I lifted it up with a toothpick, so I wouldn’t get fingerprints on the icing.
Then just use your star tip to pipe away, paying attention to how your colors overlap.
I also use gel food coloring to get those vivid colors.
Here are some of the supplies you’ll need to make your own cake for the Olympics!

Hi, Natalie! Your cake is fabulous! How did you get the rings the same size and perfectly shaped?
