Christmas Muffin Gift + Puns = A Match Made in Heaven!
I’m not going to lie – I love a good pun. Luckily, I’ve always been surrounded by people who seem to appreciate my quirky sense of humor. Or at least they’re really good at faking it!
I make this muffin basket every few years for neighbors, teachers, and even our mailman!
I don’t do it every year, because I like to vary my treats and presentation from year to year. It gives me a good excuse to make creative Christmas cookies in other years. And in the years I do make these muffin gift baskets, I try to vary the muffins I include, and make it a really gourmet gift.
When I do make these muffin baskets, I always get a few chuckles! The nice thing about them is that they fill up a container a lot more quickly than small cookies do, so you don’t have to make as many.
They’re also just a nice change of pace. So many people pass out homemade Christmas cookies, so Christmas muffins are a welcome variation.
And depending on the muffins you bake, they also give your recipient something to eat for breakfast!
Packaging and Presentation Ideas for Your Christmas Muffin Gift Basket
This year, I just grabbed some decorative boxes from the dollar store, filled them with tissue paper, and added a gift tag and some homemade muffins. All set
In previous years, I’ve picked up 6-pack muffin containers instead. I just wrap some ribbon around, added the tag and pass them out. These were nice because they were sealed if someone wanted to save them to eat later.
The packaging and presentation is a big part of this Christmas gift for neighbors, so I encourage you to get creative.
You could use a wicker basket, a decorative box, or a nice platter or plate, which could form part of the gift! Or you could decorate a plain box with stamps or lettering!
How to Make My DIY Christmas Muffin Gift Baskets
The supplies needed for this project are pretty simple! You’ll need packaging (a box, wicker basket, or plastic muffin or cupcake carrier), tissue paper, cardstock, and cupcake liners.
And of course you’ll need some muffins (might I suggest making my Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins or my S’mores Muffins).
Bake your muffins, print out the tags on heavy duty cardstock, and package it all up however you like!
See? I told you this was an incredibly easy gift!
