Are You Ready for Some Football???

Sharing is caring!

Don’t say that title unless you’re singing it!!  And, yes, I know it’s for the NFL, but really college football is what we should all be watching!

You should have seen my husband this morning… so cute!  He woke up early and was running his little behind around for hours- vacuumed the whole house, mowed the grass, washed the dishes, did a load of laundry, and was just busy, busy, busy. Trying to get everything done before noon, when College Game Day started!  I couldn’t even figure out what he was up to until I saw him taking the living room TV (that’s been up here all spring and summer)  back down to the basement to hang over the bar, so he could get both TV’s going at once for different games. I call it the Applebee’s Effect.  He was SO excited for today!

So I made him some wings for dinner before I headed out with a girlfriend to see The Help (fabulous!).

So easy, but really not healthy.  But it’s wings and it’s football, so it doesn’t need to be!

The coating is oh so important, so I do what I normally do and wing it (heehee!).

In a bowl, use a fork to whisk one cup milk and 1 egg.

In a separate bowl, mix:
1 cup flour
2 tsp. salt
dash of black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika and garlic powder.

I used about 3 lbs. of wings and dipped the wing in the milk mixture and then into the flour mixture.  The key that I’ve found to a good coating, is to let them sit in the fridge for 15-30 minutes before you fry them. This lets the flour mixture stick to it really good.

Then heat your oil to about 375 and fry the wings for about 10 minutes or until they’re cooked through.

Melt about 2 -4 tbsp. of butter and mix with 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce. You can use less sauce if you don’t like them too hot.  Toss the hot wings in the sauce and they’re ready to go!

Look at that crispiness!

I love, LOVE, love bleu cheese, so I pour some dressing into a bowl and then use a fork to crumble some bleu cheese to sprinkle on top.

WOW! We are picky about wings, which usually means we go to a wing restaurant nearby and eat there!

I found you via Pinterest, and so glad I did! We made these tonight and they are AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! Our football saturdays thank you!
